Default An end to my instrument cluster troubles.

So here's the deal, my instrument cluster had been giving me big troubles. The speedo and tach have been working intermitently, the speedo twitches sometimes, and its just working less and less. So I posted and the community has been most unhelpful Anyways, I bought the wrong year cluster for my '96 thinking it might fit, well it doesn't (my car doesn't have the DID).

So I frustratingly tore it apart, and found 3 small capacitors on the PCB on the back. I happened to have a drawer full of caps I got at a garage sale a while back for a dollar and so I decided to change them. I put in beefier 50v ones with matched capacitance. I figured they may withstand a little more stress.

I plugged the whole cluster back in and wouldn't ya know it? it works again.

If I have a bunch of free time, (which I won't) I may post a short how-to. Let me know if you guys are interested.

New cluster: $500
3 Capacitors: $1
Savings: $499
