engine knocking fixed easy!
for years my '97 has had this knocking noise from the engine (like a sewing machine), heard when the windows were up and idling.
i attributed it to the age/ mileage, and feared for the worst. finally when getting the oil change i stuck the mechanic in the car to show him.
he walked in front of the engine with me, and unplugged the PURGE VALVE. after he restarted the car, the noise was totally GONE
purge valves, he said, seldom throw a light if they aren't totally shot, but will easily echo through the car's interior.
$110 vs. $3000 (although technically it wasn't the 'engine')
it's been an awesome CAR day today...good news seldom comes this way!
