engine noise problems????

I have a 97 A4 1.8tqm with an APR chip and Borla exhaust. Last week I heard what I thought was a leak in the exhaust. I had a local muffler shop look at it and sure enough one of the clamps was leaking, but as soon as it was fixed I drove home and the noise was still there. So I searched AW and found the BPV seemed to make a honking("farting") sound. This seems similar except my car makes the most noise when I am accelerating slowly and only just after I engage the clutch. I couldn't hear anything strange when I let off the gas, so I didn't know what the deal was. As soon as I decided to order a Forge BPV the car started to make a loud air sucking/blowing sound at WOT. Does anyone have any idea what it could be?

Sounds like a split or leak in one of the hoses to me.

I had a honk in my 98...

but only when the car was cold. It would go "whoooooooooonk" when I was on the gas, and then disappear after a couple minutes. The older 1.8Ts had a belt tensioner that wasn't holding the belts as tight as they should be. The part was redesigned in 99 or 00. I had it replaced under warranty and the noise went away.
