engine oil sensor

my engine oil temp seemed to be pretty low lately, but there didnt seem to be any serious problems. however today there was a real bad rain storm, in which the roads were covered with puddles everywhere. after having driven home, letting the car sit for a few hours, and then going back out driving, the engine oil sensor light came on. i was wondering if this was pure coincidence or if this is a real problem that was caused by the rain?

probably not the cause...

the only ones who "blame it on the rain" are Milli Vanilli! Sorry, I could not resist that one. But really, it is probably a coincidence. Need to know more about your car. Which engine do you have, what year.
