Engine oil level minimum warning light

Engine oil level minimum warning light

It comes on and off.

When I check the oil level, it is fine.
It goes off by itself, then it comes on all of a sudden.

Is this a common problem for rs6?

I had oil temp. sensor go out on mine.

it turned out to be the oil level sensor.
the dealer replaced it and changed engine oil under warranty.
