Many new parts added in the last couple months including Timing belt, T-Belt tensioner, Serpentine belt, water pump belt, Water pump, Thermostat, Brake pads, All the front control arms ($500 just in parts), tie rod ends, sway bar links, rear wheel bearing, Depo projection headlights, aftermarket head unit, N75 valve, New windshield and other parts.
Im wondering what else i should be worried about or if i should rebuild the motor. This car will be my winter/ commuter car. My question is: How much would it cost to rebuild the motor with stock or close to stock parts? I dont think the car will ever see a big turbo but you never know. Maybe a ko4.
Thanks
Evan
If i get it i will be sure to post pics.

My 98.5 1.8T has 160k and is running great. Seems like they pretty much took care of everything.
Just rebuild it when needed and add the K04 : ) Good luck and keep us updated.

Why don't you do a compression and leak down test first? Base your decision to rebuild....
off of the results from those. I know people mentioned 200k and being fine, but there are also people on the opposite end of the spectrum as well. Rebuilds should be based on the present conditions of the motor IMO.

You should fine as is...
I would do a compression test and check timing. I would run it into the dirt first and then rebuild when needed if needed. The k04 is not a big turbo, then again I don't consider turbos big until you get above a gt35.
