I have been contemplating tuning my 1.8 Avant for some time now. I always thought I would go the bolt on route, and still may. Lately I have been thinking seriously about a swap instead. I almost bought a 525touring for an M5 swap when I was considering this purchase. I know it's not likely we'll have a ton of collective knowledge on the subject yet but does anyone have suggestions for who might be able to help? I'm guessing 10-12k for where I want to be with bolt on's for the 1.8. If I can pick up a complete European Evo M3 321hp+ powerplant with 6 speed for 16k on the crate I think it might be marginally less for a used S4 complete plant with 6speed. I've seen several pictures of salvage S4's in European yards, there must be a way. Who should I talk to first on this side of the pond? I'll be in Germany again in mid September (Frankfurt auto show), anyone have contacts I might visit?<br>JamesC<br>1.8tqms Avant
