Default E - european code (standard similar to DOT)
the optics are better IMO compared to the DOT requirements. E-codes typically don't require the orange reflector and they come with snazzy city lights...

Default also the beam cutoff pattern is different....
E-codes cut the beams off so that they keep the glare from your lights away from oncoming traffic.
