Fast A4s?
Hey fellas,
I normally post in the S4 and A6 forums, but a buddy of mine is looking at getting an A4. He wants one that's farily quick (doesn't have the cash to go with an S4), so I told him I'd help him out with looking around for one. He wants a 1.8T Quattro, 5 speed. I don't know my A4s that well, so I figured I'd post here. He's looking to stay in the $20K range and wants something that has around 40K miles (or less).
So I guess my question is this: What does it take to get an A4 into the 14s.. the 13s? I think he'd like to be able to hang with stock S4s.
Also, anyone that is selling a car like the one I described above, shoot me an email.

Chip/Exhaust will run you from 900-1500 bills
APR, GIAC, are the standard chips around here. I have APR for several k and have no problems. A chip will run around 400 base price. I also have the APR exhaust, which i love. Its pricey (900), but quality. Miltek sells another one of similar quality and diameter that sells for 845 through stratmosphere. For less money, there's the Borla, around 500, and a custom job is also a possibility.

APR 100 octane chip alone...
Got my last A4 down to 14.3, that was the only performance mod. As fast as your average stock S4. An A4 with a 4K turbo kit gets the car to be easily a mid-13 car, and potentially as low as very high 12's on race gas. (Although I don't think it's been done yet with just a Stage III/ T-28 kit.)

100 octane?..
Who makes 100 octane unleaded racing fuel?
Or am I wrong in assuming it's unleaded?
I would think that one couldn't run leaded fuel in
an A4...please correct me if I am wrong 'cause a
service station by me sells 107 octane 'LOW Lead'
aviation fuel for $2.25/gal. I was told it's not
classified the same as 'leaded fuel' 'cause of its
low lead content. Whadda ya think?
