A few notes of good news...
Last Thursday I went to my dealer to have a vacuum leak fixed. It was something so simple that I should have been able to see myself -- but I was just intimidated by that check-engine light.
Then I filled up the gas tank with cheap NJ gas.
THEN I drove up the Taconic State Parkway in NY to appear in court for a speeding ticket I had gotten earlier this year.
So here's the good news...
First of all, the trooper knocked it down to a no-point, non-moving violation. Just have to pay a fine. Yay!
Second, driving on the Taconic is always fun -- even if I did keep the speed limit this time. And upstate NY is *SO* beautiful! I love it up there.
Third -- I FINALLY got better than 20mpg. When I parked my car Thursday night, I had 273mi on the trip ODO (I reset it with every fill-up), and I still had half-tank left. I ended up getting 352 miles that tankful, for an average of 27mpg. That is the best I've seen in a LONG time. Not even on open highway drives. It was mostly highway, but there was also a good amount of NYC stop-and-go traffic mixed in.
I guess that boost leak was really affecting my gas milage!
Now I'm all excited to go to Summit Point tomorrow for the QCUSA event on Mon-Tues.
If only I can get the damn airbag light turned off! (It came on yesterday.)
Cheers,
Peter
