The car is putting out white smoke...rough idling, too.

Rough idle... you mean we had to let the starter crank for about a minute, while pumpin on the throttle just to get it to turn over...
Once she was running, just a lil white smoke. But when it was shut down and restarted, a ton of smoke then calmed down again.
Just tryin to get some ideas of whats goin on with his car.

compression test...you can pick up a gauge for testing from Sears for about $20
Also if you spilled oil in to the cyl it will probably smoke a little until it burns off. Although if you never removed the spark plugs, the oil won't get inside the cyl and it shouldn't be smoking.
If you did get oil in, you could have fouled a spark plug with oil causing the misfire.
Do the compression test to make sure it's not a serious condition. Then inspect all spark plugs and clean as necessary. Once that is done and you still have a rough idle and misfire codes, swap the coil pack from Cyl 5 with another location and see if the code follows that coil pack or stays were it was.
The low temp reading could mean you also have a bad MAF I would guess.

So should I bother picking up a coilpack yet? Or just wait until I do the compression test. It seems to have all the symptoms I've read about a coilpack being failed...Misfire, bad idle, shaking...I think the smoke might be from a different issue? It also doesn't start up right away, I have to pump the gas pedal to get it going...

In an attempt to reduce cold start misfires, I reduced start up and warm up enrichment to 83.6%.....
