So I took my car to the Audi dealership, for audi assurance work. I said the rear suspension is making pretty bad banging noises over bumps (sometimes even very slight bumps)

The technicion gave my entire suspension an inspection (front and back) and said the suspension is in perfect condition (everything, including the control arms, which is what I suspected).

The guy I was dealing with said the technician said it's the actual coilovers making the noise. The guy I talked to said he has a buddy with FK coilovers on his GTI, and in the winter (the winters are extremely cold where I live at times, and my car is kept outside all the time) they make all kinds of terrible noises, including banging. So he figured mine were sort of doing the same thing.

He suggested that I back off the dampening, and raise it up to stock height during the winter (It's still at around 1.5 inches lower than stock).

It's hard to say if he's right though, because sometimes (even in the summer), it was making quite bad thumping over extremely small bumps...

So what would you guys suspect, taking into consideration that the banging was occuring even before the winter??

I bought them with the car, but he had them on the car for a total of like 1 month before I bought it, so they've got about 6 months of driving on them (about 8,000 KM's on them).

I wonder if FK would reimburse me??

Or am I S.O.L., and have to either forget about them, or just get FK to replace them?
