Default Front Brake Clank

My front brakes are making a clanking noise every time the brake pedal is engaged. The noise is made when the pedal is first engaged, and I can feel a "click" through the pedal. The actual noise sounds like metal hitting metal, and it is most noticeable when braking at low speads (rush hour traffic).

Despite the noise, the brakes work perfectly fine. However this noise is slowly getting louder and more common.

Thanks for the help!

Recent car history:
1) Front brake pads and rotors replace ~ 3 months ago
2) 2 front control arms replaced this week (this did not fix the problem)

Default Did this cause a similar noise?

The brakes were perfectly fine for 2 months after the brake job. Then this noise started and has slowly gotton worse.

Well, the "clank" isn't normal. Take it back to the place that did your brakes.

They checked, and "the brakes seem fine."

Caliper bolt is falling out. Not to alarm you - just a guess.

Seems unlikely - something is loose and getting looser.

Default Re: Front Brake Clank

I have a similar problem, I just changed my front rotors and front brake pads and after few weeks I began noticing a similar noise occurring every time I engage the brake pedal. Week later I took the whole thing apart and basically redid the job. Took off the calipers and the rotors in an attempt to figure out what was wrong with them, everything seemed fine. I reassembled, but the "clack" noise remained. Braking ability is perfect apart form that clack noise. Anyone has any ideas?
