front end noise, lower control arm, tie rod?
My 96 a4 has developed a grone type noise when the front dips as in going over a speed bump or brakeing at slow speed and truning (as in parking)
I was told the a4 had a problem with the lower control arms ball joint and that the entire arm would have to be replaced. Also a safety inspection revealed (i am told) a dangerously worn tie rod. Anyone with any experience I would appr. your imput. Thanks

i had the groaning noise as well...
when turning wheel to the left while parallel parking or when the car was at rest. brought it in 2 weeks ago for inspection and they determined it was a worn/defective (the service tech used both words to describe it)tie rod. since i purchased it as an audi assured vehicle from dealer, it was covered. noise is gone!
