Default Front license plate questions.

Since I live in L.A. and absolutely have to have a front plate to drive legally, I bought a smoked cover to blend in with the black frame. It actually looks pretty nice on the Volcano Black. However, is this cover illegal too?

What have some of you other people done to deal with having a front plate?

Default anything covering the front plate in ca is illegal...cop told me this when I was pulled

over for "failing to stop at a stop sign". I have a clear cover though and just put it back on when I got home after the ahole made me take it off. My take is they wont pull you over for it but be prepared for a lecture if they do...

Default Yep, got a fix-it ticket for it on my old car...

The cop said you can't have anything covering the plates, not even clear covers because it interferes with the cameras. Sounded like a bunch of shiet to me...

Default actually... it's true

some company used to sell a cover with the purpose of diffusing lasers and cameras...

it had some weird setup in which laser beams would bounce off of it at a weird angle(the idea being that cops usually aim for the license plate as it's a relatively flat part of the car) and the cameras pictures would be obscured(being that cameras are usually taking pictures from a very high angle).

don't know how well it worked, but that's what it was billed to do.
