Default FVCK HELP.... car won't turn over

I have no idea what happened - i drove it last night no problem and now it just won't turn over. I put the keys in and hear the fuel pump charge up, but when i turn the key all the way, nothing happens (?).

Do starters die outta nowhere? Or is there some kind of alarm induced relay or something that might do it?

It's a 96 12v a4

Default Hmm. . .

Its not alarm related if your car is unlocked properly. So, when you turn the key to On, you hear nothing happen, nothing at all?

Default nothing - no starter noise or engine turning

Is there a fuse for the ginition system or something? I wouldn't think that the starter would blow up out of the blue. I'm gonna pull the battery for an hour and see if it's got anythign to do with the alarm system.

With the key in the ON position, does your CEL light up?

Default is your car a manual?

if so, you need to push the clutch pedal to start the engine? There is a switch down there when you engage the clutch pedal..if it is broken the car will not start. However, there are also many other reasons why a car won't start. I'm just trying to offer ideas at this point. I think the iginition switch is probably alright because you do here the fuel pump at prestart.

Default Don't pull your battery, because the alarm isn't the problem.

You're going to create MORE problems if you do. Check your fuses and relays first.

It's good that it's on. That means your ECU is okay and ready to go. What is your volt meter at?
