Fvcking NJ drivers!!!! My car got hit by a flying object. :-/

No idea what it was. Wife and I were driving home from dinner on I-87 behind a few vehicles and all of a sudden something nailed the front bumper and headlight. No time to react, just bam! and something kind of splatter all over the hood, fender, and windshield.
A green intrepid a wee-bit ahead pulled over with his 4-ways on. I quickly breaked and pulled over in front, figuring he/she was the culprit or somehow involved. Unbuckled, put one foot out the door, and then they took off like a bat ouf of hell! I hopped back in, chased them - wife wrote down the plate number, and I flashed my lights repeatedly and they just kept going. Bastards.
Got off the phone with NYS police - it's considered hit-and-run they said, but they said it was hard to pursue because of the out-of-state issue. I gave the plate info., have to go in tomorrow to fill out the forms.
The Damage - Lots of scratches.... shows up horribly on the dark blue. Driver side head light is scratched to hell, pushed in and out of alignment, bumper is scracthed on the round just above the license plate, grille appears intact, left front fender is scratched, hood is scratched all over - possibly pushed in dented, but I don't think so, side mirror is scatched, A-pillar is scratched, and driver side door might have some scratches too.
I'm so freaking pissed.... I hate idiot-drivers.
Funny thing is the wife and I were chatting about all the tourist traffic this summer (Lake George, Saratoga, etc.) and how there was soo much crazy traffic with bad driving... case in point proven I guess. :-/
My poor car.... I guess it could be worse, at least the windshield didn't break on impact and no one is hurt.... just scared from the impact and thinking WTF was that and "hey, where did my headlight beam go?" Followed by "Fvcking NJ drivers!!!"

George - if you are reading this, do you have any time tomorrow to take pictures of my car? I'd like to for insurance purposes so I can drop it off at Langan right away to get it fixed. Thanks a bunch man!!! (if you can that is) I'll be home all day tomorrow.

doh!....WYSIWYG did that to me once, ;) cig butt out the sunroof. smack on the hood haha
good look pursuing them...man...some people, not even the decency to stay behind and say they are sorry. also.....
