Garmin eTrex GPS and A4: Anyone using both? What mount do you use? Reradiating antenna?

Don't do it
I got a a little Garmin and also Lowrance handheld GPS, but the screens are too small to read while driving. Let your girlfriend do the navigating. She'll hate you for it, though. ;-)
As for antenna, the built-in patch antennas work fine as long as the mount (aka the girlfriend :-p) is holding the GPS at window level. Only between tall buildings and under tree cover will you lose the signal.
Cell phones and GPS are not supposed to be driver-operated during operation of the vehicle.
PS: Garmin makes an accessory mounting bracket for their GPS. I saw it at REI stores and COMP USA.

I agree, too small. However what I did was
Took a sharp 10" LCD, laptop and garmin II+ and made a nice modular system. The laptop is of course used for many things, the LCD TV I use in the kitchen and the garmin is usable on a bike or while walking.

I already do it....
I use my GPS for geocaching and more... mostly I would just like to be able to view the screen when I was at a stoplight to see where the next turn was, or glance at the nav compass to see how far away I am. Normally I just lay it on the flat part of the dash, but it likes to slide off. Sat reception if my passenger holds it in her hand is crap unless the sunroof is open...

That's odd...
I don't have a sunroof, but no major reception problems. As I said, I saw a bracket for the etrex at REI. Can you also get an external antenna that you can attach to a window.
