Default GIAC's got a chip for '02 1.8T - no fuel delivery system modifications...

so now they are the second company (after Upsolute), to have done it. Wonder what APR has to say about. Whether their claim of fuel delivery issues is substantiated or are they just trying to buy themselves time because they haven't gotten the software yet.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a4gen2/msgs/28314.phtml</a

yeah, I wonder what long-term effects this will have on the car though.

Default How do you suppose they got 30 lb/ft more torque than the 2001's?

that is a BIG improvment.

I would still be a little hesitant to chip considering the fuel issues. Why has APR said it will not work, while UP and Garret have released chips???

Default Todd's (from AWE) response regarding the fuel issue:....

"We monitored fuel mixture under full load on the dyno at full throttle, making 1.0bar of boost at redline, fuel mixture was ~10:1. That is quite rich, and proves that there is more than enough headroom in the fuel pump, injectors, and regulating system.

We did no modifications to any other system on this car besides GIAC chipping the engine computer.

It is our professional opinion, from the data we have collected, that there are no fueling limitations on the 02 A4 1.8T 5sp to support 210-215hp/260-270 ftlbs on pump fuel."

Default You will have that soon enough...

I got a ride in a K04 powered 1.8T quattro on saturday........ HOLY CRAP!!!

it pulled so much harder than my car. The revs just built effortlessly and the power was there till 6k... I did not expect that much from a k04...

maybe DSR's release of the k04/k16 will be timed right for my financial situation

Default interesting...also the quote says "on the '02 1.8T 5sp to support.." no quattro in that quote

maybe quattro is assumed, or maybe left it out for a reason??

they tested it down here - not too far from DC on an awd dyno so im assuming its quattro.
