Default Give me the skinny on the chip

I'm just about to ink my name to the ownership papers for a '01 1.8T. I've heard a lot about the "chipping" deal. Two quick questions:

1. Does it do anything to the warranty/service/maintainence costs of the car once it's chipped?
2. Does anyone know a good place in Northern California to get it done?

Thanks to all who throws some help this way!

Default Yes it does mess with

your warranty, depends on the dealer you go to. I have gone to www.dynospotracing.com for all my stuff. There are in Mt. View and DC is really cool to deal with.
