Default Glove Box Rattle....

Anyone else?

And if so, any suggestions to fix it (besides go to the dealer)?

Thanks.

Default got one here as well.....

after searching the archives I have found a few ideas that seem feasible but I have not tried any of them yet. I would like to know if anyone has had a dealer replace or repair it permenantly.

Default I'm working on mine . . .

In may case it's not the glove box rattling, but the trim piece beneath the hinges. When I open the box and wiggle it back and forth I hear "squeak squeak squeak". Annoying as hell. I'm trying to lubricate it with something (chapstick, silicone spray), but so far I can't figure out exactly what's rubbing and causing the squeak.

Default I think in many cases, it's the top of the door, vibrating against the alum. trim on your dash.

If you stick a thin piece of felt in that gap, it should silence the rattle.

Default I think the glove box needs to be helpd in tighter

Mine squeaks as well, but i don't think lubrication is the fix. I have played around with the glove box in every A4 I've been in (yes I'm silly I knwo this). The glove box just seems to be tighter. No side to side play like mine. There must be a way to tightne it up.

Default I have no side-to-side play. I'm 98% sure it's the trim squeaking on mine.

Sadly, I've become an expert on discerning the sound of Audi interior trim/seat plastic rubbing. Happily, I've been able to fix or reduce most of the sounds myself. But not the damn glove box yet.

Default this is how I fixed mine

felt tape along the wood (in your case, maybe aluminum) trim on the side facing downward. Where the glove box lid contact the aluminum. I also used foam tape on where 2 rubber feet contact the dash with good results.
