Default Got 4 new tires today, Dunlop SP9000s

Also got a 4 wheel alignment and adjusted the camber on the rear - it apparently was way off.

$@700 poorer and still stock 16" rims :-(
(but the tires are nice!)

Default haha! that was bad mojo. They gave me a printout of the before / after camber numbers

but I don't know what the hell they mean, it was off though.

Hey, my car has that new car feel to it now!

How do the 9000's compared to the 8000's?

Default I only have a few miles on them. I'll post more details in the future

But the SP9000s should be a minor step up in performance from the stock 8000e
Both Z rated
8000 = wear index of 200
9000 = wear index of 280
I got 22,300 miles out of the 8000s (with one Quattro event)

I think the 8000s were a bit wider, I did not pay attention if the difference is noticeable in the 9000s.

Any new tire will feel better the first few days as my 8000s were well worn and my alignment was off.

Here's my stock 8000e - flat tire a few days before replacement, I wonder why?

Default yeah..big change

I had the road noises from hell before I put my new tires on. I can't believe how much better the car behaves and drives.

Default Great choice Monkeyboy...I'm on my 2nd set of SP9000

Long time no see, Monkeyboy. I hope things are going well for you. I recently got laid off. After the month and half layoff, I decided to get out of the computer industry. Being a network admin has taken a lot out of me.

It's not definite yet, but I think I have a sales job at an Acura dealership. I won't mention the name until I know for sure. Anyway, I'm glad to see that you're still enjoying your A4.

How do you think they compare to the stock 8000e's?

Default Bummer, sorry to hear that. Job market is rough

Computer stuff is rougher. I hear you on the Network Admin stuff. Hopefully you find something better for you.
Good luck on the dealership job!
