Default Great experience at the Quattro Challenge today!

First of all...WOW! I fear that I may be infested with the track bug now =) I could drive on that autocross setup all day long if possible...it's a wonderful feeling to really tap into what your car is actually capable of!

They had a decent model lineup for the race portion...the S8 CLEARLY was the star of the show. My buddy and I were put into the new A4 Avant 3.0. It was one heck of a driving experience (although I was hoping to get into the S8). Taking the Avant around the track was really fun, but when the instructors took over...man I almost had to buy a new clean pair of shorts!

The wet skid portion of the program can be a humbling experience...that's when you find out you might not be as good a driver as you thought! Having FrontTrak only increased the challenge on this course. Lane Change was OK...the one course I felt I mastered! :P

I have to hand it to the instructors, they really kept things moving along. After this I'm seriously thinking about signing up for a weekend Audi Driving Experience or Panoz Racing course.

Default That AutoX course was FUN!

it just wasn't too challenging....and it was a it fast. What were you times?

Hehe...speaking as a S8 pilot, I cna honestly say that car is insane. And ho did oyu like the instructor drive? ;-)

wasn't a big fan of the osticle avoidance...kinda boring.

Wet/dry was fun, but I only got one run at it. Also, the CVT testdrive car broke down (wasn't my fault, so I had to wait in line to drive the Allorad (pig on wheels). I did happen to drive the CVT tho (low coolant level) and it felt....weird.

Default Blah my AutoX time was a 39...way too conservative at the start!

My buddy learned from my mistakes and clocked a 36.04...being owned on your own car is not fun! :P At least I know more about the handling capabilities of a FWD A4...I was underestimating it until now!

The S8 is a MONSTER! During the instuctor laps the driver must have waited at the line a good 5-6 seconds at the start of the race...then he just floored it! He was in first place by the second lap =)

The new model test drives could have been better...I really wanted to test out that CVT tranny! Audi needs a longer test drive course next time. I didn't drive the AllRoad (not my thing really).

Default 39 seconds?? Either you are a really bad driver, or we got jipped!

Up in PA last year, our autocross (if you can call it that) was 13 seconds...14 if you were really bad! :-(

Default We must have had a longer course...the instructor did 32 seconds.

still embarrassed about my lousy time though! Hey, always room for improvement!
