Default Grooved Bilstein v. Koni Sport -- ride height comparison.

I finally replaced my aging Bilsteins with a set of Koni's from Mike at PureMS. [Thank you sir!] So I wondered what the Koni's would do for ride height vs current (which I'm very happy with), since there's only one groove. I was relieved to find the Koni groove at exactly the same place as my current Bilstein groove choice.

I'll give it a couple of days to settle, but overall height on the car looks pretty close to what it was before.

Those Bilsteins sure do look scrawny don't they?

Default Not sure what that entails..

...besides being without shocks for who knows how long. I wasn't the original purchaser, so I couldn't have had them re-built or replaced under warranty. I sure wouldn't pay to have it done.

Springs are Vogtland.

Default Better than it was.

I would need to have had relatively new Bilsteins on there to accurately compare, otherwise it's apples to oranges really. Old, possibly blown Bilsteins vs. new Konis -- damn straight the Konis ride better! :-) Seriously though, feels much firmer, with a bit less body roll through the corners. And no more clunks!! (thanks to control arms or bearings or end links or TRE's -- one or all of those).

Default will you have pics of the two setups?

i find that my neu race and koni setup sits higher in the back than bilstein neu race setup on other cars.

Default I didn't do rears.

There's really only one "control arm" on each side in the rear (if we define a CA like the fronts: rubber bushing on one end, ball joint on the other). Not sure if it really needs replacing like the fronts do.

Cool. Where did you set the rebound? Middle? Stiff? Soft?

Default Sure, be glad to help.

Did I hear you mention access to a lift in another post somewhere. Boy that'd be nice.
