According to the manual, I can subtract ((150 x passengers) + luggage) from the GVAR and find the actual weight of the car. However, the "luggage" number is nowhere to be found. Ideas?

Yes, I spelled GVWR it wrong originally.

I read the sticker, I read the manual, I searched the forum (in the sorry state that search is in), and I can't really determine what the actual weight of the car is.

we drive a 5 passenger vehicle...gas weights about 7lbs a gallon so you can strip that too.


4552lbs = 5 passengers with a full tank of gas and all fluids.

So...4552-5 passengers=3652 then add whatever you weight..thats what it weights when driving around.

The only problem is that the GVWR is said to contain luggage, so that's an unknown weight to subtract.

A 1998.5 B5 A4 Avant with a manual transmisson, Sport and Winter packages, and leather non-sport seats weighs 3340 pounds.

Now if I only knew the weight distribution.
