and just when I thought I knew a lot about these cars...crikey, I barely understood what you were saying!

(and not due to lack of clarity....VERY well written!)

I need to read your post a few more times. MUCH knowledge to be gleaned here...and I'm a sucker for knowledge.

You must spend a lot of time at the track. I've never heard ANYONE talk about handling in that depth. Much respect.

One ignorant question for you: would this mod be a waste of time for street driving?

I've got my suspension fairly well tuned (stock sport springs, Neuspeed Bilstein Sports on lowest perches, 20mm rear sway, 17x8's, 225 Kumho's)....I don't track the car, but I definitely have fun on the streets.

Would this mod be worthwhile for me?

Dan - you woulnd't notice it except when powering HARD out of turns and the car pushes....

it would send more power to the rear, and the car wouldn't push, and it would scoot out more.

You have to be driving 9.5/10 tho. So no, on the street, prolly not. Unless you drive like an ***.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. ;-)

Bilsteins are actually one of the longest lasting shocks out there

They retain like 90% of their damping after many many miles. Any shock won't last long if you run them with springs that exceeds or are at the high end of their valving. IMO the Vortrags you have are in the high end but they'll be OK.

As far as the center diff, you really need a rear LSD to take full advantage of it. Weight transfer is not that complicated. Once you AutoX and track your car for a while you'll understand how that stuff works, heck you can even feel how it works =) You can tune each phase of the corner with shocks/alignment/rear diffs etc.
