Hall sender problem A4

Hi I hope someone out there can help - my 2001 A4 is running badly: poor acceleration, misfire on idle, lack of power climbing hills etc etc. The Check engine light is on, giving fault code P0341. That seems to link to the G40 Hall sender. I have checked it and replaced with another and problem remains. Of the three wires going to the sender, one is earth, the other gives a 5v reading, but the third, which is green/grey and I think the sender to the ECU, gives 12V. Is that normal? Surely not? In which case any ideas as to how to solve this/what might be causing the rove voltage? Many thanks in advance

To diagnose bad Hall Sender, crank w/ gapped plug wire & wait, a single spark will be discharged

A bad Hall Sender will not send out normal spark while cranking, but will send a final discharge after the key is released. I hope that helps to eliminate the Hall Sender as possibility.

PS I would be checking all grounds for corrosion.
