mainly the intake manifold, how much hp you get from that is it like putting a cone on there.
any feedback appreciated

Nothing like the cone filter. They remove abstructions and radius the corners for better air flow
and volume.
If they remove that "vacume chaimber" or what ever that thing that opens up at 4K RPM is called, then its not such a good mod for street application.
I would like to see the hp numbers myself.

Because that chaimber gives more air volume at high RPMs and closes at lower RPMs so that there is
less volume for the air to fill.
Simply put, if you remove the gate that closes the chaimber, and leave the chaimber opened all the time, then you will loose power at below 4K, engine will be a lot less responsive, while you will gain very little at above 4K, so for racing, it makes sence to do this since you will be gaining some hp (very little hp, but you want all that you can get). For street application, its not such a good thing, cause you mostly stay under 4K RPM and you want your car to be responsive.
If you want to do some cheap mods, look into a cone filter conversion and a ported throttle body. That should give you about 10-15hp and cost around 350. I would then look into exhaust and headers. Then big valve heads
Hope this helps.

Im no expert but I have paid attention to what experts say. For example:
APR say just do a drop in filter, as do pretty much most other Audi tuners.
Under hood temps soar once the car is driven hard (turbo gets really hot), any open element intake system will suck hot air and reduce power.
Money is better spent on another mod like the SPR fan kit that actually does work as per two installs posted on this board lately.

The 12V engine is not a turbo engine.
The under hood temperatures are much lower on a NA car than they are on a turbo car. That is why the cone filter can help increase HP and responsiveness on an NA engine.
