Has anyone figured out how to upgrade those damn...

I already have a 4 ch amp, but i'm only using it for my...
front speakers. The installer said, because the rear speakers were self amplified, the signals coming out of the factory head unit was too weak for the amp...
Don't know what to do...!!?!@#$

no true. the signals going to the self-powered speakers are perfect....
they're line-level.
what you don't want is a high-level signal going to an amp.
do you have bose? because the wiring from the bose amp harness are line level also.

OK, somebody help me out please...
I don't have Bose, just regular factory system. This is what i did so far...
I kept the factory head, installed Boston Acoustic components for the front, which is powered by a 4-ch kenwood amp. Only, i'm only utilizing 2 out of the 4 channels right now, because I was told that the signals for the rears coming out of the factory head was 'below line-level?' or something like that (also, i have 2x12" subs with a second kenwood amp, which are getting their signals from the lines going to the front speakers). I don't know. Basically, if there is any one out there who has successfuly installed both front and rear sets of speakers powered by a separate 4-ch amp, or knows of a setup that works, PLEASE FILL ME IN!!! I have been pondering about this for months now!!!

Do you have a symphony HU? if you do, it has line level outs
They're just not being used if you don't have bose. You need a blaupunkt adaptor from crutchfield.com, part# 0232NDPRE. You can thus use this cable on the line level outs from your HU and feed it to an amp.

I do have Symphony HU...so....that means..
I can just take the line level outs (is that the same as a pre-amp output?) from the factory HU and just feed it to the amp? Would I need a line-out-converter or anything like that?
