Default Has anyone here driven a X5?

Just curious. Saw one on the road recently, pretty sharp. Looked online, they've got a lot going for them by the sounds of it. And it's offered with a 5 spd. too

Curious if anyone has driven it and what comments you may have on it in regards to handling, power, overall feel, etc. This could be a good combination vehicle to have fun in and still tow a sled during the winter.

Default Not quite. But now am jealous :P M3...Mmmmm... Would like an M5 someday.

Or the X5 with the new V8 in it, something like 6.6 second 0-60 time for a 4,000+ lb. SUV. Whoah! Porsche's new SUV is due out soon too I think, that should be neat.

Default I've seen some spy shots of the new porsche suv...

I honestly think thats wrong... like there's gotta be an 11th commandment against it... something like "Thou shalt not create a Porsche SUV."

Default my impressions....

my friend's pop got the 5spd imported from europe when they first came out(only auto then), this thing pulls hard, and stops on a dime. steering was crisp and percise. no complaints at all. the gps comes with a color lcd (no monotone red arrows), and works flawlessly.

eh....that's about it, reading kilo took a little bit to get used to, but this is now my fav suv. second is the infiniti qx4 (however my mom's 2000 has NO power, but feels and looks great =Þ)

u should check out the X5 lemans (like X5 meets cosworth)

Default Oh boy.... Guess I have to go visit the local BMW dealership for a little test drive now :)

Haven't visited the local Beamer dealer since I got my Audi. I can remember before, pulling up in my Ranger and getting the cold shoulder and *scumbag* look. It'll be interesting to see how they treat me now in my A4. It's sad, but ultimately true, that books are judged by their covers.

Default word on the street is 3 engines....including a 450hp TT!! and faster around Nurburgring than an M5

base engine will be a 300hp V8
2nd engine will be 350hp V8
top of the line will have 450hp via TWIN TURBOS!!!

And i dont think the pics we've seen so far have been real spy pics. The owner of the dealership i go to was invited to an "unveiling" of the porsche suv...actual car was not shown, but undisguised pics were shown. He said the car looked SWWWEEEETTT!!! (but who knows) And was also told it lapped the Nurburgring faster than an M5!
