Default Has anyone installed ProtoColD's RS6 Xenon kit?

This is the one that is being sold on the classified section. I've got everything together except the ignitor seems awefully big. It's on right now with not much room to spare. Also, I cannot get the back cover back onto my headlight housing (btw, they are halogen ecodes). Am I doing something wrong? The corner of the ignitor is resting on the bottom which brings up an issue of how I'm going to aim the headlight. Any ideas? I bought this kit thinking that everything will fit back together easily.

Default that looks about right, its a tight fit, keep working at it.

I had to sand away some material from the inside of the housing cover with a dremel. Every little bit counts.

Default You can take off the tin casing on the ignitor off, which may give you some room...

also try putting the ignitor on a differenat way. Meaning try and get the ignitor on so that the bottom or top of it is parallel with the housing.
I had the same problem, but squeezed them in.

i can take a pic for you in a bit... off to dinner!!

im sure that if you dont have the HID back for the headlights, you have to drill a hole for the wire

Default what are you talking about?

you dont drill a hole for the wire, you drill a hole for the ballasts plug that feeds into the housing from outside.

Default yea i couldnt fit all that in the subject, so i just put wire. i meant wire for the plug....

that way the ballast can sit on the outside of the headlamp

Default There's no way to line up the ignitor so that the top is parallel with the housing

because the two nubs on the bulb will only fit into the ignitor a certain way. You can see it in the pic below that there is a cutout at the 2,5,8 and 11 o'clock positions. I did take off the tin case and it gives a little more room. I still can't get the back cover back on without it hitting the ignitor. I'd really appreciate it if you wouldn't mind taking a picture of yours.

Looking at the ignitor, I think I could dremel out 2 new slots at 3 and 9 o'clock so that I could put it on so that the top and bottom are parallel to the housing. The black piece that you see on top is very thin and the white part underneath actually has a slot. What do you guys think?

Default did you see my post about sanding down the cover?

If you sand so the thickness is only a milimeter or so where that point makes contact you should be fine.

Default No need to dremmel the H7 adapter...Put bulb in housing. That adapter clicks on. (more)

Put bulb in housing...take that adapter and twist it on...its lil tricky b/c there is a lock on it so u have to twist it on right. but u should need to cut that at all.
