Has anyone removed & replaced the black rubber molding on the bottoms of their A4 doors?
Hello...
I've got a 1999 A4 1.8T Quattro.
I've had it about four years now, and I just recently discovered that the black strips of rubber-plastic on the bottom of my A4 seems to be rusting. There's no pyhsical orange color, but I suppose that there's metal behind the rubber and I think it's that metal that's rusting, causing it to "pull" away from the door.
A while back, I recall a few people talking about something similar to this......
A few questions:
Has anyone ever removed & replaced these black rubber strips?
And if so, how do you remove them properly?
Is it labor-intensive, or rather elementary?
I assume that these need to be replaced, what's the cost associated with these parts?.....got any part #'s?
Thanks for everyone's input.....
Best regards,
Patrick
