Default Has this ever happend to anyone ?

I was driving home last night w/a friend,i was kinda showing off my 99 1.8tq 5spd to him because he is concidering gettin one...so we came to a stop light and i was taking a right, so when the light turned green i got on it real hard then when to slam it in 2nd and i couldn't get it in gear,to i went to 3rd then realizing the shifter was really sloppy...it was so stange...it wasn't going into any of the other gears properly either ..i thought my tranny junk...so i stopped the car turned it off ...put the car in reverse...turned the car back on and everything was fine...was not able to make the car do it again....has anyone every heard of this ....or does anyone know what happend ?

Default Do you have an aftermarket shifter? you probably had the sifter cables come loose...

or something along those lines... By putting it in reverse, it must have popped back in (whatever it was)..

Default Poor clutch work, missed a gear.

Or maybe you messed up some of the linkage, but I doubt that since it's all working OK now.
