Default I might join you too...

If I don't go to Austria for Audi's Winter Driving School! :-) I was reading one of my old Quattro Club mags last night...that school makes the NH school look like child's play! It's limited to 8-10 students, so track time is excessive (if there is such a thing). It includes helicopter ride above the track while the others are practicing. Frankly, they pack it so full of stuff that there is always something interesting to do from the time you get up until the time you fall asleep, including nighttime snowmobiling! Only catch, it's nearly $4K, NOT including airfare! :-((( Suddenly a free BBQ down south looks more appealing!

Default Yeah...

I'm not into spending 4k for a winter driving event. Skip Barber on the other hand is different and I don't think it's as expensive. I'd rather take a European vacation for that kind of dough.

Of course, for a once in a lifetime experience, that would be nice but just not high on my list of things to try.

Default ...

I actually think this is as good as Skip Barber...professional rally drivers are giving you a week of one on one time, plus you have all the other activities and events that Audi plans for you. You do pay for it though.

A 3 day racing school at Skippy is $3000-3500. I've already looked. :-/

Mid Ohio is a relative bargain at $360.

APR BBQ is a better bargain! Are they doing a road course down there...or just a drag event?

*edit* N/m...just read the post on the APR site...track event canceled.

Default Whats the sense in having a stage 3 if you don't know what to do with it?

:-P

Based on the article, they start you off slow, on an open track, and let you get the feel of sliding and drifting. As you develop confidence, they move you onto a tigher track, and/or reverse the track direction, requiring you to have a little more skill to navigate the turns at speed, and control the car properly. They also have a timed night snow rally (2 people per car required). You basically spend a week with rally drivers, refining and honing your winter driving skills. With 8-10 participants, there is a lot of track time, and 1 on 1 time with instructors. I doubt you'll find this level of instruction at many other places, regardless of price. If you can get your hands on one of the winter quattro quarterly mags, it's worth a read!!!

Default Ha...stage 3 all the way!

You can then settle for a cheaper local driving event. :-)
