Default headlight bulbs burning out...

Recently both of the lowbeam headlight bulbs in my car burned out, within a couple of weeks of each other. The first time I went in for a replacement, the service manager said I should check the battery fluid level which might be low, and that situation might cause a current spike when I turn the lights on (????) . The second time I went in, the guy who changed out the bulb said the battery fluid level was fine and that it was a common phenomenon for 2000 A4's to blow bulbs like that.

what to believe... ?

thanks
-K.

Default I used to burn through a lot of headlight bulbs...

But then my headlight switch went out and I haven't lost a bulb since. Coincidence?
