Headlight on, Ignition off warning chime!

Does anyone know how to turn the headlight warning chime back on...mine doesn't seem to work anymore. My wife always leaves the lights on, I've got to get that damn chime fixed!!

Fairly common problem. Repair involves replacing instrument cluster. Are you under warranty?

No, I'm overseas...the warranty only covers first 12,000 miles only. How much money are we talking about?

A lot. Believe rebuilt cluster about $650 in U.S. Add about a hour shop time.

Replaced cluster and labor would cost me $1200 Audi said... but they extended the warranty to cover.
