Heater Core Flush
- I popped off both lines to the heat core, hooked up a small shop vac and sucked all of the coolant out of the system.
- I then ran 2-3 more gals of water though the core 1-2 gals going in each direction. The water didnt seem to flow as quickly as it should (it seems like it is still blocked).
I still dont have very good heat. The lines leading to the core, the driver side one is HOT, the other is only warm(the one /w the pin hole). I think this would say the core is still plugged up. Are there any good products that would losen up the stuff inside the core?

thanks.

I picked up a bottle of Prestone Super Radiator Flush. Again, I disconnected the 2 hoses on the heater core, /w a small shop vac + small hoses + duct tape (to seal the hoses to the core), I drained the heater core of the G12. Then ran 1 gal of hot water to rinse all of the G12 out. Then ran 1 gal of hot water + the cleaner, and chuncks of rust and other stuff came out, so the stuff really works. Ran another 3 gal of hot water to ensure all of the cleaner was removed. Bled the heater core (there might be a few more air bubbles as I hear gurggling noises from the core).
Thinking of repeating the process and to clean even more of the crap out. Not so chilly anymore!
