Default Help...my 2001 A4 1.8T is "burping"

I've read all about the moan/groan sound that people are having with the 1.8T which, from what I've read, seems to be related to the blow-off valve. Well, I took my brand new 2001 A4 1.8TQM out for a spin last night and, after about a mile, I started to hear a sound coming from the engine that I would explain as a low frequency burp (and, no, I didn't eat any chile before the drive!). The sound varied in length from a half second to a couple seconds and also varied slightly in pitch. Is this what everyone is talking about? I think someone here had an Audi dealer order a new blow-off valve...any news there? Thanks!

Default Sounds like the problem. I think it sounds more like a 'fart'.

Default Sounds like the Diverter valve.

I just had mine in checked by the dealer. Initially, they had not heard anything in regarrds to the 1.8T (As far as they knew, it has been a problems on the TTs only)

After an hour or so the service technitian said he found a bulletin from AOA stating the problem for the '01 1.8Ts as well. The part was ordered and I am now waiting since it takes at least a week or so.

Good Luck!<p>'01 1.8T

Default I think I farted last night when I was backing in the garage and almost stalled the car...

my foot slipped off the clutch and I caught it before it stalled..I heard this hideous noise ..sounded like a giant fart..did I mess something up?...I've never heard it before and I'm a spirited driver...
