help.. (radar detectors)
i need a radar detector.. i am going to buy it today, and i want to stay around 100 dollars.. Any advice is appreicated. And as far as hardwiring it.. do i need to buy any additional things?

The 8500 will be released around late may. If you wait until late summer, I suspect you'll find 8500 selling routinely for <$200. Unless of course, passport raises the price of the replacement unit they are introducing. Hell, I just sold a mint 1 year old unit (box, manual, receipt) here for $200. It's well worth the extra money of the cheapo $100 detectors on the market!

save money for either a Passport 8500 or Valentine 1
I bought a cheap one first and it crapped out after a year. Now I have a V1 and am very happy with it. You could look on ebay and find a good used V1 to save some money.
