Default Help , removing rear deck for speaker upgrade on 2000 1.8T (more)

Hey there , looking for help on how to safely remove the rear deck in order to do a speaker woofer upgrade on my Bose System . Now I have looked at the FAQ which is good , but this was posted in 96 . And now on this deck we have the isofix restraint hooks , now when looking underneath where these are screwed into , the metal is riveted onto the frame , so it looks as if it cannot be removed at all ! So maybe you guys can help me , as I ned to change these "woofers" out for a decent set in order to get some real bass .<p>150bhp A4 1.8T Quattro

Default You'll need a new amp too. the rear speakers have built in amps.

Default Re: Help , removing rear deck for speaker upgrade on 2000 1.8T (more)

I've done it on 99.5 same I guess,1. disconnect rear 3rd brake light, fold the rear seats down, look up there is a beam that runs across the back deck with 2" holes in it, there are 3 white plastic fastners holdind it down left middle and right..then the rear deck should pop up and the pull towards the front, you might have to push down the side seat cushion to get the deck over it,and also when pulling the deck out put your hand underneath and push up alittle so it doesn't get caught on anything(same when re-installing it,don't wana put a tear in the speakers) and about the seatbelt holder I didn't remove them I just used enough slack and moved the deck down..Good luck, it's not that hard just becarfull and give it a tug

Default Re: Easy, take off plastic caps from child restraint hooks first

Once you've removed the caps from the restraint hooks, you can use a wrench to remove the bolts from each hook.
