Help with Tip-tranny recoding
I searched the forums for Tip-tranny recoding for improved performance, but I could'nt find anything about it for a 2001 A4 Quattro 2.8 tranny. I don't know if the fact that my car is Drive by Wire has any relevance. If anyone can offer any info, I would appreciate it. The stock code showing in the VAG for my car is 06435.

I believe you want a recode for the engine, not the trans. Kris can help you. We disagree on which-
He likes the 190 hp setting as it came stock, but I definately like the 200hp A6 recode. I would not mess with the trans codes unless you want something specific. The engine code works ONLY on Tiptronics, maybe that's why you are thinking it's a trans recode. Talk to Kris...definately at least try it.

Are you sure the 06435 is not the shop # our '01 2.8Q coding is 07251...
If you were trying to recode the trans I have used 00022 for the trans instead of the 00002.

I have a PES Supercahrger on the car and PES did reflash my ECU, so I don't know if they changed anything as far as the tranny coding. I have found them to be VERY SHADY, so it wouldn't suprise me if they F'd up my tranny codes. I'm wondering if I should change my shop code to the 07251.

Don't worry about shop code. To see if the trans codes work...
enter 00032 or 00022 or 00012 into the block that now reads 00002 when you access the transmission controller through VAG. If the code is wrong, the TCU won't accept the input.
IIRC, 00012 invokes sport mode, 00022 allows first gear to be held longer and 00032 adds both features. See link.
