I'm not planning on putting them on until about mid November, but as far as buying goes - you should buy early - probably about now - because they sell out quickly and what's left may not always be what you were looking for.

Never used snow tires here...all seasons with good tread will get you anywhere
Except for those 4 days in the winter we get snow.

You're wasting your money if you buy winter tires around DC. All season M+S rated are more than...
enough, especially if you have quattro. I have never even come close to having a problem getting around wuth all seasons. In fact, in the last 3 winbters I can count about 6 days total when they would have even been justified.
