Hey guys, i think i may have finally found a replacement A4 for the one that got rearended...
It's an 01 Pelican/gray A4 1.8tqms w/ celebration package. I has almost 70K on the odo, interior/exterior look pretty top notch, and it is COMPLETELY STOCK.
The only problem is that the Timing Belt hasn't been done yet. Now here is my question. Is the timing belt failure problem only associated with the NDBW 1.8t's? Or do the '00-'01 A4's still have the propencity to die?
The reason i'm trying to find this out is because this is pretty much my only bargaining chip. The seller is asking, i think, way over what the market is allowing on 01 1.8t's. From what i can tell on autotrader and in the classifieds, 01's are going for around 14K. He is asking 16K...

second that. I wasn't sure about DBW having a better tensioner
So, I just replaced the timing belt in my 2001 at 60k. Its insurance and not too bad ($650) when done by an independent.
