Hi, I remove the driver side lower grill beside the fog, and notice there is a plastic cover behind.

Hi, I remove the driver side lower grill beside the fog, and notice there is a plastic cover behind.
Isn't that restricting the air flow to the intercooler? Can I remove it??

if you take off the whole bumper, you can see that it actually funnels air into the intercooler...

It does restrict airflow. ABT makes a duct for this
Lucky for me I have a 97 without fog lights. The ABT kit I got for my car included a special duct which you install inside the bumper. Installation required cutting the filled spaces in the faux grill cover to make it an actual intake.
