Default Hood
I noticed in the specs for my 98 A4 that the hood was listed as Aluminum. Years ago, the original battery exploded in the car sending acid all over thus causing rust and the need for some repair. The hood also started rusting where the acid had hit the underframe. This, of course, means that the hood (frame at least) was steel not Aluminum.

Any of your cars have an actual Aluminum hood?

The A4 does not have an AL hood, but the A6 (the C5 at least) does.

Default really? still seems heavy. have you ever lifted the hood on a D2 S8? now that's light.
ah man, now I'm going to go look at D2 S8s on the market again.

yeah my 2000 hood is heavy.... a TON heavier than my CF hood at least.

i know, i have one and the stickers say i have two turbos and a 2.7l v6.
