I need to insert a new ash tray I bought, mine was broken (the two metal pins at the back is non existant) and the lighter didnt work, thus I ordered another.

Now I need to install the thing, anyone has any pictures as to what should happen with the two metal clips at the back?

This is on a '98 A4QT

there are 2 clips:

I took a screw driver and hit up(in relation to the clip in the pic) to get the clip to release. Once they were inside, the whole thing just slid out.

What are you going to do with the old ash tray? I need the gears, cuz that's what broke on mine... if you're going to throw it out, lemme know cuz I'll take it off your hands.
