Default here ya go....

take a hair dryer and warm the area for about 20 min then take dental floss and saw away the glue behind the badges until they fall off. After they come off, there will be glue left. Take Goo Gone and rub that on the glue and use your fingers to rub that all off

Default Will that work with rear license plate mount?....

...Because in taking off my license plate/frame a few weeks ago, one of the bolt holes became stripped and I had to hacksaw the screw off just to get the plate off. The bolt hole is beyond repair. I noticed that the license plate backing is bolted to the trunk lid but also had a tar-like adhesive between it and the lid.

If I were to replace this license plate backing, do you think the hair dryer will work on this nasty tar substance? Or should I just have a professional do it? I don't even know what I'd use to remove the stuff without taking off paint. Nail polish remover?

It could work i guess...but it would probably take a lot of time and effort (say 5 hours or so)
