How do you go about fixing heated mirrors that are always Heating?

How do you go about fixing heated mirrors that are always Heating?

They all always heat. Well, at least when the car is on.

So,is it normal for a mirror to de-laminate ?

Default You should only be worried when they DON'T heat, which happens often. I've replaced a couple

in the last 3 yrs.

Default not true. they're on at 59F degrees and below. there's tech. bulletin regarding the fix of these,

but I'm eating lunch, so it'll have to wait for me to find it. It's really not a fix, but how to test if it's failing beyond a sensor failing that can be checked by looking for error codes.

I just had my driver's side one replaced this past tuesday due to the heat function not working. No sensor failures, but the element failed or never worked. The only fix is to replace the entire "guts" of the mirror, since everything is attached.

Default Well, wait until they burn out, and then buy new ones...

the new ones have a temp switch in them so they are only on in cold weather.

Mine did on the driver's side. $50 for a new one from the dealer.
