How does Audi get away with that stock ECU programming?! ;)
I just had the <a href="http://www.dynospotracing.com/">DynoSpot Racing</a> "chip-for-a-day" ECU put in tonight (<a href="http://www.giacusa.com/">GIAC stage 1.5</a>)... after driving only for a quick spin around the DSR neighborhood and then back here to work (yes, I have no life =), all I can say is "WOW!"
Aside from being able to hear the turbo working its magic now under a whole 1.1 bar of boost, the thing just *pulls*. I've not sat in an S4 (yet), so I won't even try to compare (not that one really *can*, I suppose), but man, the transformation brings a grin to my face. =)
This is just a first cut of impressions, as I will have the chip for next day or so. I'll post more careful observations later if I remember. There was some concern/questions about running the chip with the Tiptronic transmission. I'll holler if I leave any ZF 5 HP 19 FLA parts lying the SFBA streets this weekend. I noticed one instance so far of the tranny seeming to become confused on an auto-shift, but I'm not sure. The Y2K tip programming is supposed to be sufficient to handle the Garrett program fine.<p>-eric

I live in the SFBA and I'm very interested in your experience with the GIAC chip. I love my 99.5 Avant Tip but I sure could use more surge. My dealer, however, told me it would void the warrantee so I'm mulling it over.
