How hard to replace 99 1.8T Concert head unit with Aftermarket Pioneer head unit?...
Hello guys,
I ran a search and couldn't get a definite answer or instructions on how to install an aftermarket head unit.
I have a 99 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro Tip, and it has a Concert system in it. My 6 Disc changer died on me so I am debating to get the Pioneer DEH-P6700MP head unit or maybe an IPOD.
Now I have installed head units before on my old honda but was wondering if it is as simple on an Audi? Do I simply just slide the Concert head unit out, use a wiring harness and din kit, and thats it?
I have heard something about an amp running the rear speakers and I have to use an hi-lo output? Is that only for the BOSE system or is that for the Concert as well?
Lastly, are there any issues with respect to running an aftermarket head unit, I read from searching about it creates problems because it uses the same connection to the OBD-II?
Thanks guys in advance.
